About the EEOC Campaign
The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) is deeply concerned about the current state of affairs at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the agency responsible for protecting all employees and job applicants from all forms of workplace discrimination. However, due to insufficient funding and staffing at the agency, the jobs of millions of Americans are in jeopardy.
Often when people think of the EEOC, they think of an organization that deals with discrimination aimed at minorities and women. However, it’s more than that. The EEOC deals with cases involving age, religion, disability and other types of discrimination. Without the staffing and funding to investigate the cases that result from these and other forms of prejudice, it’s likely that valid claims will fall through the cracks and put American livelihoods at risk. AFGE wants to ensure that this doesn’t happen.
